How to Create 3 Luxury Skincare Products from One Herbal-Infused Oil

An herbal infused golden elixir — the base for three indulgent skincare creations!

There’s something sacred about taking the time to create your own beauty ritual — one that connects you to the elements, honors your body, and reminds you that luxury isn’t about excess… it’s about intention.

Our ancestors understood that true beauty came from harmony — from blending the wisdom of the plants with the rhythm of the moon, creating potions that nourished both skin and spirit.

And when made under the new moon, it becomes more than skincare — it becomes a ceremony of self-love.

Ingredients

Base Oils:

• 16-24 oz total of Jojoba oil (light, balancing)

• About 4 oz of Castor oil (thick, cleansing) — mix at a 4:1 ratio (4 parts jojoba : 1 part castor)

Herbs, Roots & Resins:

1/4 cup Calendula petals – for glow, soothing inflammation, and healing

1/4 cup Rose petals – for love, softness, and gentle hydration

1/4 cup Rosehip – rich in vitamin C and rejuvenating for the skin

1/4 cup Moringa leaf – deeply nourishing, high in antioxidants

1 – 1 1/2 tbsp Frankincense resin – sacred, firming, and spiritually protective

2-3 tsp Turmeric powder (optional) – brightens and evens the skin tone, reduces dark marks

Preparing Your Infusion

You’ll Need:

• A 16 oz mason jar

• A double boiler or a pot and heat-safe bowl

• A fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth

• A blender or mortar and pestle

Instructions:

1 Set your space. These luxury blends fit well for crafting under the new moon, when the energy supports new beginnings and fresh intentions. Light a candle, play soft music, and set an intention for what this oil represents — self-love, renewal, or inner radiance.

2 Layer your herbs. Fill your 16 oz mason jar in tiers with your herbs — calendula, rose, rosehip, moringa, frankincense resin, and a small spoonful of turmeric powder if desired.

3 Blend gently. Pulse or crush the mixture slightly so the herbs release their oils and scent.

4 Pour in the oils. Combine your jojoba and castor oil (4:1 ratio) and pour into the jar until the herbs are fully submerged — about 12–16 oz of oil total.

5 Double boil. Place the sealed jar in a pot of simmering water (low heat: don’t let it get above 150° f) for about 4 hours, shaking the jar every so often, allowing the herbs to gently infuse into the oil. The slow heat coaxes out their essence without burning or overcooking.

6 Cool and strain. Once done, let it cool, overnight or longer, then strain through cheesecloth into a clean glass bowl or measuring cup.

7 Bottle with intention. Pour your golden oil into dark glass bottles or jars, sealing it with a prayer of gratitude for the plants and their gifts.

Herbal Safety Disclaimer

While all of the ingredients used in this recipe are natural and carry powerful healing energy, it’s important to remember that herbs and essential oils can still be potent — and should always be used with care, respect, and awareness.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when working with these plants:

• Calendula – Belongs to the ragweed family, so those with ragweed or related allergies may experience irritation or a mild reaction. Test on a small area of skin before wider use.

• Turmeric – Known for its bright golden color and healing properties, but it can stain skin, clothing, and surfaces. Use sparingly and handle with care.

• Frankincense – A sacred and powerful resin; however, too much essential oil or resin extract can cause dryness or irritation in sensitive skin. Always dilute properly in carrier oils.

• Essential Oils – Highly concentrated and should always be used in small amounts (1–2% dilution). Overuse can cause burning, redness, or sensitivity, especially on the face.

• Castor Oil – Thick and stimulating; a little goes a long way. Avoid heavy application on oily or acne-prone skin.
