The Ancestral Practice of Cleansing
Long before perfumes and commercial colognes, our ancestors worked with nature’s pure essence to cleanse, bless, and restore energy. One of the most loved of these creations is Florida Water — a floral, citrusy spiritual water used across the diaspora for protection, purification, and energetic renewal.
Rooted in Afro-Indigenous and Latin spiritual traditions, Florida Water is a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds — a sacred wash that clears stagnant energy, invites clarity, and uplifts the spirit. Making your own at home reconnects you with the old ways: slow, intentional, and rooted in the magic of the earth.

A Brief History
Florida Water was first created in the early 1800s as a unisex cologne named after “La Florida” — the land of flowers.
Our ancestors infused it with herbs, flowers, and prayer, using it in ceremony and healing work. Today, it continues to be an essential part of spiritual baths, altar offerings, and daily cleansing rituals — a timeless expression of connection between earth, water, and spirit.
Storage
Store your Florida Water in a cool, dark place. Properly made, it can last 6–12 months. Always shake gently before each use to awaken the energy.
